The God emcee, largely recognized as the greatest lyricist of all time, and you’ll get no argument here. Paid in full just might be the greatest Hip Hop album ever created (and will be recognized as such on this site) his lyrics and delivery are seamless, complex and easy to understand at the same time His catalog has been plagued by poor production since the Album “Follow the leader” but there’s no doubt that as far as lyrical dexterity he is the end all be all.

Memorable Bars

I’ll take seven emcees, put ’em in a line. Add seven more brothers who think they can rhyme. It’ll take seven more before I go for my, and that’s 21 emcees ate up at the same time.

I wake you up and as I stare in your face you seem stunned. Remember me, the one you got your idea from?

You could try coping, I seen enough shit to leave your frame of mind broken. I’m still alive and scopin’, be another hundred years till my sky’s closin’ and Ima die with my eyes open.

I came in the door, I said it before. I never let the mic magnetize me no more.

I ain’t no joke, I use to let the mic smoke. Now I slam it when I’m done and make sure it’s broke.
