eclectik 10: Favorite Cartoon Characters

November 30, 2006

Just for fun, and in my ever growing list of ‘Top 10’s’: My top 10 Favorite Cartoon characters of all time

1. Daffy Duck

Daffy may be a lunatic vigilante in one short but a greedy glory hound in the next
If I had to pick any cartoon character that I’m most like it would be Daffy…he’s a loon and always has a plan
More importantly sarcastic as hell

2. Bugs Bunny

THIS is my guy, most look at the cartoon and think Bugs is funny, but if you really look close you’ll find he’s a complete and utter jerk LOL
Just fux with people for sport, granted …dude be the hunted a lot of the time but he always gets the best of em.

3. Yosemite Sam

Violent and belligerent
Sam is significantly tougher and more aggressive than Elmer Fudd when challenging Bugs. He is also quicker to learn from his mistakes, and never falls for the same ploy twice. However it is Sam’s own cockiness that always gets the best of him; Bugs learns to deal with Sam upon learning that he is incapable of turning down a challenge. Every time Bugs dares Sam to “step across that line,” Sam can’t help but do so, even if he steps off into empty space or down a mine shaft.
Another angry dude…He’s fukn funny as I dont know what though…he has more names for Bugs, hands down the most quotable:

“…ya dang old fin flappin’ flounder…”
“…ya shovel nose mackrel…”
“…ya no good bush wackin’ baracuda…”

“I’m Riff Raff Sam, the riffiest riff that ever riffed a raff!”

4. Grouchy Smurf

There is NO possible way I can ever dislike a character that Hates everything…sheer brilliance! Hilarious!
And close to my personality LOL He be on the: do you want to go to the fair? “I HATE going to the Fair” Oh okay, then you don’t have to go to the Fair “I HATE not going to the fair” Puahahaha

5. Starscream (Transformers)

Ambitious and treacherous
He is more intelligent than the average Decepticon, ruthless and cruel in his actions, but also somewhat of a coward.

Starscream was the decipticon (Bad guy) second in command to Megatron; he always tried to take over and undermine the leader…and again was an asshole

6. Cobra Commander

He was less of an evil genius and more of a psychotic egomaniac

Frequently led assaults himself, but was a coward at heart and proved the first to turn tail in retreat whenever the tide of battle shifted unfavorably. Impatient and frequently hysterical, he was prone to fits of rage when things went badly, often launching into extended rants. He was also greedy and egotistical, often mistreating his own troops to the point of mutiny, and on multiple occasions saw his plans foiled by his own arrogance.

7. Spider-man

The every man super hero…he was a teenager…always had something smart to say to the bad guys…and had the best collection of bad guys so the shows were always fresh.

8. Wile E Coyote (super genius)

That’s another one…dude with the Acme Black card…can get anything he wants (cept food LOL) in the Road runner joints he next to never says anything but is funny as hell
AND when he’s f’n with Bugs…dude kills me with the “super genius”

Funniest ish is the beginning of the Road Runner jump offs when they stop motion for the intros and have the descriptions…most didn’t really pay attention but some of them were like:

Carnivorous Vulgaris
Eatibus Anythingus
Eatibus Almost Anythingus
Eternalii Famishiis
Hard-Headipus Ravenus
Evereadii Eatibus
Overconfidentii Vulgaris
Desertus-operativus Imbecilus
Then maybe ONLY funny to me one episode when the two kids were watching the show and asked why he chased the road runner, he stopped and had a chart describing the parts of the road runner and what it tasted like:

Sponge cake

(Tail and neck)

Candied yam

Chop suey
Pork chop

Cheddar cheese (Wile E. clarifies it as being “Wisconsin cheddar”)
Double martini (very dry)
Yorkshire pudding

10. Tom (The Cat)

More so when he was in the Zoot suit! and the one when he was singin “Is you is”

Dude be mackin on the female cats like a G

He and Jerry can keep me in tears
EXCEPT for that one season where they were animated all weird and in space etc.

10. Ren Hoek

Funny dog…calls Stimpy an “eeediot” and slaps him around, quite literally. Ren is vain, spiteful, hyperactive, abusive, and gets irritated (especially by Stimpy) very easily. Ren will often go completely insane during the course of an episode. His lifelong ambition is to have huge pectoral muscles LOL!!

Decent list? Who do you guys like?

  • Keli

If I were a cartoon character I guess I would be grouchy smurfvette.

  • TC

    Hey I’m First for a change….yea me!

It is an interesting list in deed….says a lot about you, especially since you let us know which ones you are like…

    1. Road Runner (that seems to be me, running, dipping, dogging, always syking someone out and doing something else…)
    2. She-ra she was a warrior a fighter…I loved that…she didn’t rely on HeMan (her brother) to rescue her she stood up for herself…that’s how I had to come up, especially with older brothers always trying to put the smack down…
    3. That mother gummie bear I can’t think of her name (Grammie Gummie maybe), but she was always so wise and funny and didn’t take no stuff off the other gummies…
    4. Nanny from the Muppet Babies…don’t know why you only see her legs but she always could come in and make everything better or calm them all down…
    5. Kermet the Frog I love that dude he was so chill and cool
    6. Miss Piggy she didn’t care who said what or did what, she was going after what she wanted and she didn’t take no stuff either…
7 Old Scrooge McDuck he was a mean old thing but deep down he had a good heart and wasn’t afraid of an adventure

  • TC

dag and it took me so long I wasn’t first…that bites…LOL

  • DivineLavender

I would be Jessica Rabbit from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”. Think about it E, who else would I like….She stood by her goofy ass man through all kinds of BS. Everyone was wondering how didn’t Roger get a woman like that? That would be me.

I would be She-Ra. Yeah, man who else!

  • The Sarccastik Anamoly

okay i agree with you on number 1…that was my boy..and i like cobra commander to…you are definitley a 70s baby….

  • bayoubeauti

I am really impressed by your knowledge of all these cartoons lol especially the quotes.

I think i used to want to be either Strawberry Shortcake (cause they had a village of food), A popple (they just looked like they always had fun) or the Shana from Gem cause she had purple hair and was sick with the drums.

  • Kay

Fun list!! I’m kind of young so my cartoon list my variant a little from most of the readers, but i’m not THAT young:)
    1. She-ra
    2. Scooby Doo
    3. Strawberry Shortcake
    4. The Flinstones
    5. Yogi and Boo Boo Bear
    6. The Jetsons
    7. The whole cast of Duck Tales
    8. Alvin from The Chipmunks
    9. Snoopy

  • delightful

    pretty impressive list….

I think that my all time favorite would be Jerry from Tom & Jerry. That darn mouse never gave up and was always kicking Tom’s ass. Do you remember the episode when Jerry’s cousin came to visit and they double teamed ole Tom? Pure cah- muh-dee!

I do agree with you that Buggs is a complete jerk. If he were a real life man he’d be that old greasy womanizer in a cheap brown suit with blue pleather shoes who’s always trying to scam someone and who always tries to outrun the IRS. šŸ™‚

  • j.a.c.

Jem!!! Truly Outrageous. Remember her?? I so wanted to be that chick!

  • j.a.c.

  • CreoleInDC

    Grouchy Smurf was my BOY!

  • Deborah

YES! STARSCREAM! He was the guy that I wouldn’t admit to liking. I thought he was pretty cool and his voice was PERFECT for the character. Damn…I want that cartoon to come back…remember when the movie came out? The cartoon one? I have no idea if there was more than one, but the one I remember watching was when megatron ends up dying and floats around in space, but then he encounters this weird thing that not only brings him back to life, but makes him cooler and STRONGER, but Starscream had taken shit over and then Megatron came back and like, pushed him down the stairs and shit…Damn..!

  • Mistress

    My list is waaaaay girly.

I’m down with Jem and the Holograms (from the 80’s)
    Punk Brewster’s cartoon character
Miss Piggy from the Muppet Babies
Strawberry Shortcake because her dog’s name is ‘Pupcake’ and that is SOOO CUTE!

    and Rainbow Brite.

I know. Girly as hell. šŸ™‚

  • januari

I still have my popple from when I was little,.. šŸ™‚

what’s up with the captian cavemen…I use to live for that cartoon…

I actually watch a few new ones now on saturday morning that are pretty good..

  • MizJJ

I use to like this cartoon called COPS. I do not remember much about it except they had this forbidden type of romance between a cop and a cat burglar. Loved it.
