Jem and the Holograms? Shidd Mistfits kicked ass
Had, Roxy, Stormer, Jetta and the leader Pizzazz

Papa Smurf was the only one that ever looked old
Legned of zelda came out, and the catridge was Gold

Made tents hangin sheets off the sides of Bunk Beds
Watched Voltron, Black Lion …I’ll form the head

People wanted big money no Whammies on Press your Luck
Bean counter Fenton Crackshell was Gizmo Duck

Talkin bout blathering blatherskite
McDonalds had Mac Tonight

Wrestlemainia Closed Circuit with the Satellite

Watched Rescue Rangers with chip and Dale
And why I thought Gadget Hackwrench was fine as hell?

Care Bears
Birthday, Cheer, Love-A-Lot and funshine
Good Luck, Tenderheart, Grumpy, Friend and Bedtime

Lemon heads, Boston baked beans were a dime
Use to wait the whole show for the Soul Train line

Louis Vutton, Fila and MCM Jackets
School picture day Ordered the A or B package

With the ill wallet sizes
Girls showed their thighs wearing the short shorts
Riding bikes past where the guys is

Or they air brushed their name on the back of the jeans
BET had Madeline Woods and Screen sceen

Plus Teen Summit, Ananda use to run it
We had Candy cigarettes nobody gettin’ blunted

Fred worked for Mr. Slate at the Quarry
Flick got stuck to the Pole on Christmas Story

Ralphie in the Bunny suit? Had me Dyin

Roos had the Straps…Shoes…didn’t have to tie ’em

Heathcliff, Rif Raff, Mungo and wordsworth
Hoop on the back of the door, Ball made by Nerf

Use to pass girls notes and fold them all intricate

I remember Rescue Rangers! Damn that show was awesome. I loved Gadget, but that’s because she was the only girl. I’d sit and watch it with my brother and we would sing the theme song together.

I just passed a rock quarry yesterday…for the longest I thought those only existed on the Flintstones.

And I put a peppermint in the middle of my pickle…probably couldn’t pay me to eat that ish now.

Talk about taking it wayyyyy back. My bro had a crush on Smurfette, and I was a little black Shera. We used to bite our Now & Laters in half, one for lunch, the other for later (and never remember them in our uniform pockets). There is nothing like Saturday mornings in the 80s – early 90s. This poem is about the little things we almost forgot. Got to give my bro a call now. 1995 was the year my best friend and I suddenly stopped understanding each other. (Sigh) The nostalgia.
