Da14th Letter

The “N” Word

I HATE that term! …’N’ Word

Why is that the only word that’s the “First letter” word?
Isn’t that the same as saying it?

I hate that its okay that artists use it in EVERY one of their songs…I get tired of hearing it

I get uncomfortable when I walk past a white person listening to the latest rap songs or discussing the Chappelle show
Not because I don’t I feel some kinda way about discussing, but I’m annoyed that I’m going to have to have to beat their ass
When they slip up and say something because they think we ‘cool’ and they can say shit.

Damn I hate having to fight for my culture. LOL

…the ‘N’ Word.

Freestyle Friday on 106&Park …no saying the N Word …shut up wack host boy.

I hate saying it…though sometimes it’s funny.

…now that I think about it, I only use it when I’m, being funny.

People will type it and put ’66’ in place of the “gg” like OH that makes it better!

People even fukn shorten it! “My ‘Nig'” <– Wha?

When white people are at home, with their friends, in their car listening to music; you KNOW they say it…they don’t censor themselves when the CD doesn't

Even Jesus Walks started with like 3-4 “Niggaz” JESUS Walks!

…Then you have the black people that say it’s okay for their white friends to use it around them…then that gets them bopped on their heads by black people that are not their friend

“My other friends say it’s okay to use it”….BOP!!

 Puahahaha

You know, there was a time in hip hop when if you said “Ass” or “Hell” it was an ooooooohhhhhhhh moment!?
And somehow they STILL managed to make good songs, go figure?

White people saying “My Nizzle” is the same thing as well…some are just too stupid to realize

There are no derogatory terms for Caucasians…none with sting, or that stick…because it doesn’t matter; we can’t hurt them…it’s their world 🙂

Making the “N” word the “N” word just makes it more powerful…it’s like telling kids they can’t have a cookie…or don’t touch something;
It makes them sneak a cookie, touch whatever it is.

Technically I ‘spose there’s a difference between ‘er’ and ‘a’ / ‘az’ But the word is the word…and most white people talk too proper to effortlessly use the ‘a’ on the end, they’ll sound like they’re being condescending…okay MORE condensing
On top of they shouldn’t be using either version in the first place.
All other types or racism is acceptable…I mean damn “Chinky eyes”!?!?!?!?!?! That’s some fuked up shit.

I blame NWA, they ruined Hip Hop and they put the “N” word in the mainstream quicker and more effectively than any Richard Pryor or KKK discussion ever did.

I don’t think that white people shouldn’t use the “N” word, I don’t think ANYONE should use it…it’s a fukin slang word at this point
That shit aint cool…but since its slang why can’t it fade away like cold crushin and tubular….gag me with a spoon, and funky fresh?

Nahhh Nigga.

It’s plain to see…you cant change e…cuz I’ma be a

    BOP!! lol
Crackers…LMBO!!!!! Oh I’m not supposed to laugh. lol

You got to stop using the word first before you talk about other people e….(shaking head) lol

I feel you on this one. I don’t like using the word at all. I don’t understand how we as a society can take a demeaning word, and then change that shit up to slang so we can use the demeaning word amongst ourselves as a term of endearment and greeting. Thats a damn shame. I don’t like it, but I don’t see a possible scenario for it to be phased out of the vocab either…

When white people are at home, with their friends, in their car listening to music; you KNOW they say it…they don’t censor themselves when the CD doesn’t

    – That reminds me. I had a White chicks moment a while back. I was at a stop light waiting when these two young white girls roll up in a convertable blasting and singing “In my White Tee” and looking at me like I’m supposed to be bopping along with them. I had to laugh, but it was sad.

There are no derogatory terms for Caucasians…none with sting, or that stick…because it doesn’t matter; we can’t hurt them…it’s their world
    – Okay. It’s not derogatory(I don’t think), but there have been a few going around that are funny. I just thought of one a while back that might catch on: ‘Nilla. As in VAnilla. yea, it sounds to much like … but hey, Vanilla’s a funny word.

    5000!

Wow!!!!!! This is my first (and definitely not my last) time here. Two words-LOVE IT!!!!!!!! Okay, I’m on to your next post…

e, I dont think Ive ever really tried to stop using the word. Its meaningless if and when said by myself and others around me (same color), but it can take on great meaning if another color say it.

    Or as you said, “BOP!”

I’m guilty of using it around my friends, and singing it in songs that use it… and I also use all the other derogatory names for my people, Mexicans, etc. It’s like a sickness, I guess; I have a potty mouth and I can’t (won’t?) stop! Is there a twelve step program for that? Does anyone have Dr. Drew’s number?

“Freestyle Friday on 106&Park …no saying the N Word …shut up wack host boy.”…LMAO…that was funny cuz I think both hosts on 106 are wack and corny

Now about the N-word have you ever really f’d someone up for using it?…I think if more people got they arse beat we wouldnt have to tell them not to use it, I had this dominican guy say it in front of me using it as slang and I told him to stop and was like whatever there are dominicans that are darker than some black people……IM LIKE AND YOUR POINT IS????…..Guess I shoulda just beat his arse…cuz all of the black guys around me were like “Its just a word” A-holes!!!!!

  • harriet

i could see you whoppin someone’s tail for slipping up and saying it.

yeah, the word needs to be buried…my husband and i use it around one another, but beyond that, it is not uttered anywhere else.

surprised you didn’t comment on nas’ “statement.”

    good stuff (as always), e!

“I blame NWA, they ruined Hip Hop and they put the “N” word in the mainstream quicker and more effectively than any Richard Pryor or KKK discussion ever did.”

NWA ruined hip hop?!?! Really?! I definitely can’t agree with that. And I’m not too sure NWA can be blamed for the mainstream usage of the word. Unfortunately “Nigga/er” is etched in the history books. It can’t be buried. Personally, I think its starting to lose its sting.

    lol I LOVE the images.

I can’t stand the phrase “the N word”. It annoys the hell out of me. I cringe when I’m in class or I’m at work and some self-proclaimed liberal uses the term. My only thought is that I KNOW you don’t say “the N word” when you’re in your comfort zone. …

Man, this word is something I removed from my vocabulary a few years ago. I wish EVERYONE would just let it die already. Geez!
